Dr. Giovanni Batz will focus on the current Central American migrant Crisis. His presentation will examine the historical roots of displacement and migration to the U.S; the human rights abuses occurirng at the U.S. - Mexico border and detention centers; and the particular violence that indigenous peoples and youth are experiencing. Dr. Batz will provide examples from his research both in Guatemala and the U.S.
