Name: Film Screening: America’s Truth: Cincinnati
Date: August 4, 2023
Time: 2:00 PM - 3:20 PM EDT
Event Description:

America’s Truth: Cincinnati explores how structural racism produced inequitable outcomes in four Black neighborhoods in Cincinnati – Avondale, West End, Lincoln Heights and Kennedy Heights. The stories of these communities recount a long history of unjust policies intentionally designed to drive inequitable outcomes by race and place. Pairing the science of public health with riveting storytelling, the documentary covers nearly 200 years of housing, education and public safety policy that continue to produce adversity for Black Cincinnatians today. Download the discussion guide (PDF) to start a conversation on Truth in your community; and check out the Truth & Equity: Cincinnati case study to learn more about the Cincinnati Truth & Equity process.

America's Truth: Cincinnati will be screened the first Friday of every month in 2023. The film was produced by the Center for Community Resilience, part of the Milken Institute School for Public Health at George Washington University.
