Delhi Township purchased 14 acres of property on Delhi Pike back in 2019. Known in the community as the former site of Remke Market, the land sits in the heart of Delhi and is the foundation of the Township’s Plan the Pike Redevelopment strategy. The 20-year plan, which commenced in 2015, is designed to connect the community, spur additional interest and development along the Pike and make Delhi an attractive place to live, play and raise a family.
The core concept of Plan the Pike hinges on “catalytic redevelopment” in which a newly designed and constructed site creates momentum that leads to continued transformation nearby. In effect, evolving an underused piece of land into an attractive destination and desirable place to live will entice private developers like our team to see the value in building more new destinations nearby to capture the same kind of audience. The Plan the Pike redevelopment strategy provided market analyses, feasibility studies and environmental design trends – which were then aligned with input from community listening sessions – to provide a roadmap for elected and appointed officials to properly steer investments and resources,
enabling them to put the strategy into action.
In August 2021, the development team of PLK Communities and NorthPointe Group signed a memorandum of understanding with Delhi Township to develop a mixed-use project in the heart of Delhi now known as Delhi Towne Square. The project will include 180 apartments, a pay-to-use recreation center, outdoor lawn spaces for community programming, the township’s administrative office, community development and parks and recreation and four Oak Hills Pre-K classrooms. The total investment is expected to be between $50 million and $60 million.
PLK Construction will be the General Contractor for the residential portion of the project. The project will require the following services that are needed to finish the project.
