Overview of Findlay Market Facility Manager
The Facility Manager oversees the maintenance, upkeep, and improvements of all properties managed by the Corporation for Findlay Market (CFFM). This role includes managing facility operations, addressing project needs, and leading the Maintenance Tech team. The Facility Manager follows a standard Monday–Friday schedule but must be available for occasional evening and weekend work. The Facility Manager will report to the Director of Market Management and Operations, and will be responsible for leading the facility team.
Performance will be reviewed annually, focusing on the effectiveness of maintenance and facility management within the Market District, including all CFFM-managed properties and third-party CAM participants. Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Facility Management
- Manage all facility-related contracts, including waste management, repair services, approved vendors, and preventative maintenance agreements.
- Manage all CFFM licensing and regulations as it relates to facility management to include, but not limited to, composting, waste management, and mechanical systems. Ensure proper maintenance and facility documentations are in good standing.
- Manage pest control programs across all CFFM properties, including oversight of third-party Common Area Maintenance (CAM) members.
- Own all relationships with third-party contractors for both project-based and routine maintenance contracts. Oversee preferred vendors for supplies and services.
- Manage all major mechanical systems across Findlay Market-managed properties, including, but not limited to, HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, and plumbing. Implement preventative maintenance strategies, conduct in-house inspections, and plan financially for future upkeep and replacements.
- Develop and lead Maintenance Tech team, ensuring they can effectively respond to in-house maintenance needs and grow their capacity to manage facility operations internally.
- Support energy management initiatives by ensuring utility billing accuracy, optimizing operational efficiency, and integrating sustainable procedures into future improvements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for facility security, overseeing security systems, alarms, and related protocols. Maintain up-to-date records and implement systems to enhance security for merchants and staff.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of parking lots to ensure a high-quality experience for visitors.
- Act as a liaison to CFFM staff on new projects, ensuring maintenance, support costs, and execution plans are properly considered and implemented.
- Oversee and maintain the work order system to efficiently manage requests, schedule repairs, and track financials.
- Lead and support beautification efforts across the Market, including flower planting and placemaking efforts.
- Respond promptly to emergency facility needs, including major system failures, equipment breakdowns, and security issues.
Planned Projects
- Project Coordination – Oversee projects from planning to implementation, including managing the bid process, selecting vendors, and coordinating efforts between Findlay Market staff and third-party contractors for capital improvement projects. Provide initial approval and final signoff on bids and payments for all planned Capital Projects.
- Collaborate with other CFFM teams to manage facility-related projects in conjunction with respective stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Market Operations Manager to execute planned projects across the Market District. Identify and develop new initiatives that enhance the market experience, generate additional revenue, or reduce operational costs.
- New Project Support – Act as a liaison to CFFM staff, ensuring maintenance, support costs, and execution plans are properly accounted for in new projects.
- When needed, work hands-on with the Maintenance Tech team to execute projects.
- Long-Term Planning – Lead the planning, estimation, and execution of long-term capital needs. Provide planning documents to the CFFM leadership team.
- Merchant Move-In/Out & Upgrades – Oversee the execution of planned projects for merchant modifications to stalls in relation to new merchants and upgrades.
Market Management
- Support other Market Management team members to provide necessary coverage of Findlay Market Operations.
- Support efforts to maintain a safe, clean and beautiful market atmosphere.
- Work with Communication and Events team to execute facility-related needs.
- Support full-time vendor rule enforcement as it relates to facility requirements.
- Address vendors needs and concerns with the support of the Director of Market Management and Operations.
Financial Management
- Manage and support budget creation and controls.
- Ensure all facility operations are completed on time and within budget, while managing repair schedules and assessing repair costs.

- Extensive knowledge of facilities, machinery, and equipment, with at least five years of facility management experience.
- Knowledge of carpentry, electrical work, painting, kitchen equipment, or HVAC is a plus.
