18th Cincy-Cinco returns to Fountain Square
Better, larger, and for the first time hosting a Latino job fair!
“Mucha Fiesta, mucha comida, mucha diversion”
CINCINNATI, Ohio (Thursday, March 31, 2022) – The excitement is building up as the 18th annual Cincy-Cinco Latino Festival quickly approaches, we are in the planning stages for Saturday, May 7th and Sunday, May 8th on Fountain Square to make this 2022 event BETTER and LARGER, and for the first time hosting a Latino job fair!
After canceling the physical event for 2020 and celebrating our 17th annual virtually in 2021 due to the Global COVID pandemic we plan to make this unique Latino celebration like no other celebration in the Cincy-metro area. People from many cultural backgrounds have attended the event and have always enjoyed the celebration of our culture and sharing some of our traditions with the community.
As in the recent past, our theme will be from Porkopolis to Tacópolis where we will feature colorful and delicious flavors of authentic Latino street tacos. In addition, we will have restaurants from Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, with more to come and all these unique food presentations will be through a dozen different local and regional restaurants.
Entertainment, music & dancing from two dozen of the most notable performers in the Midwest will fill downtown Cincinnati with family fun, folkloric performances, and evenings full of salsa dancing.
Some of the other attractions include activities to celebrate Mother’s Day. In the children’s area, the kids can decorate flower pots for their mothers. Saturday afternoon will be dedicated to the young children with games, raffles, piñatas, and a parade with all of Cincinnati’s favorite mascots.
And for the first time, we’ll be hosting a Latino Job fair, where participating organizations will be able to share information about all the job openings they have including contact information on how to apply.
Cincy-Cinco’s founding partners, Kroger and P&G will be there giving some of their products away to the visitors. Fifth Third Bank along with several other sponsors will showcase their products and services in fun interactive ways.
Cincy-Cinco, the tristate region’s premier Latino cultural fest, is a family-friendly event that showcases Latino culture, values, and traditions. It runs from 12 to 11 pm on Saturday and 12 to 6 pm on Sunday. As in every year since its inception, net proceeds will be used to support tristate health and education efforts in support of the Latino community. In the previous 17 years, the proceeds distributed have exceeded $525,000.
