Cincinnati City Council Honors Alfonso Cornejo, September 20

We are happy to announce that Cincinnati City Council will be honoring Alfonso Cornejo, President of the Hispanic Chamber of Cincinnati USA, as part of Hispanic Heritage Month. Mr. Cornejo was born and raised in Mexico, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Mexico. He started his career as a chemical engineer for Procter and Gamble in Mexico, ultimately becoming plant manager and then head of human resources. 

In 2003, Alfonso Cornejo was chosen to succeed Roberto Peraza as the fourth president and has since served in this role for twenty years. He champions their work in helping institutions engage with Hispanic-owned businesses in the Cincinnati Tri-State area and fostering the professional growth of Cincinnati’s Hispanic residents. 

He also contributes to the City of Cincinnati by serving on numerous boards including Cincinnati Public Radio, Hispanics Avanzando Hispanics, Interact for Health, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland Mr. Cornejo will be honored on September 20th, at 2pm at City Hall (801 Plum St. Cincinnati, OH 45202) in Council Chambers (Room 300).
