Hispanic Heritage Month runs Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, and Cincinnati is celebrating accordingly, with Latin-inspired celebrations bringing the fiesta energy to the Queen City.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Hispanic Heritage Month started under President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968 and was enacted into federal law 20 years later in 1988. Now, the observation celebrates the contributions of the country’s largest minority group, the more than 60 million Hispanic Americans and Latin-identifying people who make up part of the U.S. population.
