The Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra’s October 25 concert is part of a four-day festival entitled We Are One: Hope. A brand-new mobile mural created by ArtWorks artists Michael Thompson and Jason Al Ghussein and inspired by stories collected by local nonprofit A Picture’s Worth during Little Amal’s September visit will be unveiled at the event. The mural will be dedicated to Greater Cincinnati immigrants and refugees.

About Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra
The Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra is an independent ensemble of 32 professional musicians that launched the critically acclaimed summer music festival Summermusik in August 2015. The CCO offers a fun and informative musical experience in an intimate and informal setting. The CCO’s size allows for creativity in programming, presenting orchestral works ranging from Baroque and Classical eras to commissioned works by contemporary composers. Collaborations are a hallmark of the CCO, including partnerships with CET, Cincinnati Ballet, and the Cincinnati Art Museum. Summermusik concerts are presented in venues all around Greater Cincinnati, and the festival has experienced unprecedented growth under Music Director Eckart Preu.
The Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra is supported by Robert and Debra Chavez, Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation, ArtsWave Community Campaign, Louise Dieterle Nippert Musical Arts Fund, The Charles H. Dater Foundation, and the Ohio Arts Council.
About ArtWorks
Since 1996, ArtWorks has collaborated with community organizations and residents, businesses, governments, foundations, and nonprofits to build creative works of art that support the Greater Cincinnati region’s global reputation as an arts destination. ArtWorks has employed and trained over 3,500 professional artists and 4,000 youth, ages 14–24. We invest in our creative economy by creating jobs that support local talent, pairing professional artists to inspire and mentor diverse teams of youth, and helping them build 21st-century career-readiness skills. Over the past 27 years, this collaborative approach has created a citywide gallery with more than 14,000 public and private art projects, including more than 300 permanent outdoor murals.

A Picture’s Worth’s mission is to support individuals and communities in sharing accurate, strengths-based narratives. In our community projects, each of those narratives is sparked by an individual image and audio story. Our storygathering methodology is built upon years of researching and practicing restorative media and systems change. We believe that all narratives shift based upon who is placed in the center of them. We intentionally work alongside community members to elicit narratives that center them and honor their expertise and strengths as well as their challenges. By doing so, we do the critical work of deepening media coverage beyond headlines and stereotypes.
