Position Overview:
As a Catholic healthcare organization, St. Elizabeth is committed to the common good and caring for the whole person. St. Elizabeth is searching for a Director of Culture and Belonging to support these commitments. The Director will provide leadership as we: (1) further a culture of belonging within St. Elizabeth, (2) enhance cultural intelligence to ensure comprehensive and competent patient care, and (3) build teams that fully leverage the skills, experience and agency of all our people.

The Director, reporting to the Senior Vice President for Mission, will join St. Elizabeth at an exciting time. St. Elizabeth has just launched two new departments in the Division of Mission Services, Community Health and Partnerships and Culture and Belonging. These two interdependent and co-located departments have been developed to advance two key priorities in our strategic plan: associate and provider engagement and health equity. In pursuit of these priorities, the Director, in collaboration with system-wide partners, particularly Human Resources, will enhance cultural intelligence among leaders and providers, create an organizational ecosystem that fosters an asset-based, inclusive culture, and leverage research and assessment to guide our efforts.

Qualities and Experience:

In addition to bringing proven leadership experience in culture, inclusion and organizational development, the Director will bring experience:

  • Leading cross-functional teams
  • Building relationships across diverse stakeholders and serving multiple different constituencies
  • Developing strategy, managing operations and executing initiatives
  • Utilizing data, assessment and research to refine strategy, respond to opportunities and lead change
  • Facilitating learning experiences
  • Dynamically communicating with diverse audiences, with the ability to articulate a vision that inspires others and brings them together

We are looking for a Director who is:

  • Invested in building diverse, asset-based teams, characterized by inclusion and belonging
  • Committed to teamwork and collaboration
  • Curious, generous and driven
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and responsive to changing environments
  • Interested in making a deep commitment to St. Elizabeth and the communities we serve
  • Appreciative of St. Elizabeth’s unique history and Catholic heritage and the inspiration it offers our efforts to promote whole person care and pursue the common good

The Director will work onsite in our corporate office. The position requires some night and weekend commitments. The Director is a member of a highly interdependent and cross-functional division that works hand-in-hand with Human Resources. Reporting to the Director is a Program Manager.
