Xavier University’s Career Development Office is seeking an Assistant Director of Experiential Learning to develop and support a program of high-impact, transformational, and experiential learning opportunities for students.
The work of the Assistant Director of Experiential Learning includes program development and management, student advising and support, effectively communicate and develop relationships with staff, faculty, and off-campus partners, and data collection and statistical reporting.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide leadership in the development, implementation and maintenance of the high-impact experiential learning initiative.
  • Establish and maintain internal policies and procedures for the initiative in alignment with University efforts to promote and expand awareness and participation in high-impact experiential learning opportunities.
  • Create and maintain processes for tracking experiential learning, data collection of experiential opportunities, and other relevant engagement for statistical reporting.
  • Promote, advocate, and expand awareness and participation in quality experiential learning opportunities to students and establish relationships with the staff, faculty, and both on and off-campus community partners.
  • Develop, review, and edit marketing and resource materials for experiential learning.
  • Advise students on internship/experiential education preparation and search.
  • Promote and facilitate experiential education opportunities.
  • Assist in the development of strong employer partnerships to support ongoing opportunities for student
Job Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, Business, Counseling, or similar field; Required.
  • 1-3 years’ relevant professional experience; Required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with diverse populations of students, e.g., students of color, first generation college students, students with disabilities, and students on academic probation; Required.
  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Business, Counseling, or similar field; Preferred.
  • Experience utilizing student information and tracking systems, such as Handshake or Banner; Preferred.
Job Requirements:
  • This is a full-time Monday-Friday position.
  • This position may require occasional night/weekend commitments.
  • This position requires to be onsite, with the option to work remotely one day per week.
